NOSE AND EAR PIERCINGS BEAUTY AND AFTERMATH
Nose piercing comes in different types depending on what a person prefers. Some prefer high nostril piercing, septum piercing, nose studs among others.
Ear piercings also come in different forms including daith, helix ear piercing, tragus, conch, industrial and high lobe piercing among others.
Nose piercings add looks and style to ones face. Whether one chooses a nose stud or a nose ring on the septum the look remains super cute and attractive.
However, nose piercings take a long a period of time to heal. The healing process can last for about three to six months.
Aisha Khamisa a piercer at J.J’s Custom INK in Blantyre says the longer the you leave it the better and the frequent you change it the bigger the blister.
“ Nose piercing is prone to infection because the inside of the nose is a mucous membrane, it is a warm place where bacteria grows,” she says.
She advises people who get new piercings to use a solution of white vinegar because its known for its antibacterial properties.
Ear piercings on the other hand are less painful compared to nose piercings because the cartilage is thicker and the tissues heal fast.
Ear piercings can even heal in a month if well taken care of.
Both nose and ear piercings have their aftermaths. Nose piercings may cause necrosis of the nasal wall which is the death of living cells. It may also lead to the formation of septal Hematoma which is the bleeding or bruising with the septum which comes with difficulties in breathing and swelling.
Ear piercing results to many medical problems like sepsis, contact dermatitis, allergic reactions that are caused by metals like nickel and superficial skin infections.
